Hi there! I’m so glad you found my corner of the internet! I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for helping others understand the complex science of nutrition. I believe that teaching people culinary skills is one of the biggest ways to improve nutrition. I have a B.S. in Dietetics and Nutrition, Fitness, and Health from Purdue University and an M.S. in Pediatric Nutrition from Saint Louis University where I also completed my dietetic internship.

Food has always played a major role in my life. As a young child, I spent hours helping my mother in the kitchen. Through her encouragement and that of my grandmothers’, I was instilled with a deep love of cooking and baking. Ten years of 4-H and dozens of foods projects taken to the county and state fairs, helped perfect my baking skills. In middle school, I started my own baking business – selling freshly baked goods each week – which continued throughout my time in college. 

Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to be involved in the healthcare field. However, none of the career options really interested me. During my sophomore year of high school, I attended a community meeting about healthy eating and met a dietitian for the first time. I had never heard of dietetics before, and after the meeting I began a conversation with the dietitian about dietetics. After an interview a couple weeks later, the puzzle pieces fell together perfectly and I decided to become a dietitian. I’ve never looked back since.
